High Performance Building Science - Real World Best Practices

This training equips builders and construction professionals with practical strategies to exceed code minimums, enhance building durability, and reduce risk through smarter enclosure design. Focused on the Texas climate, the session combines expert insights with hands-on demonstrations to help participants improve performance, reduce callbacks, and differentiate their work in a competitive market.

Instructor

Mark LaLiberte is a veteran of the building industry with over 30 years of experience. As co-founder and partner at Construction Instruction (Ci), he is a recognized leader in building science education. He has educated thousands through lectures, on-site support, the Building Better Homes video series, and a top-ranked mobile app developed by his Ci team.

He earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from EEBA for his Houses that Work lecture series, which has been delivered across hundreds of North American cities for over 16 years. His leadership roles include serving as Building Science Co-Chair for Hanley Wood’s Vision 2020 Project and over a decade of board service to the Cold Climate Housing Research Center in Alaska.

Mark has collaborated with manufacturers to innovate energy-efficient building products and co-created Ci’s animation studio, producing state-of-the-art educational tools. He also helped design training for Habitat for Humanity’s 2012 Repair Corps Project supporting veterans' housing.

His work centers on building healthy, durable, efficient homes, benefiting homeowners, professionals, and the environment. At Ci Live in Denver, he leads immersive training that combines classrooms, wall mock-ups, and lab work to teach best practices in complete building systems.
